Restored brick home by Paul Lally's Masonry Inc.

Family Owned Since 1988

Why We Stand Out

Anyone can lay brick. Building something that lasts — and treating your home like it's our own — is a different trade entirely. That's the one we're in.

The Difference Is The People

Same family. Same name. Same standards — for over 35 years.

Paul Lally's Masonry Inc. has been a family business since 1988. We didn't grow by cutting corners or chasing the lowest bid — we grew the way good masons always have: one solid job, one happy neighbor, one referral at a time. Decades later, that's still exactly how we work. When a Chicagoland family trusts us with their home, we treat it like our reputation depends on it — because it does.

The Lally family — Irish roots, Chicagoland masons

A Family Trade

Two generations. One name. Irish roots and Chicago grit.

Paul Lally's Masonry Inc. isn't a franchise or a call center — it's a family. Proud Irish roots (yes, the shamrock is real), decades of Chicagoland winters, and a craft handed down hand to hand. The same family that started this in 1988 still shows up on your job, still teaches the next generation the right way to set a stone, and still puts our name on every wall we touch. When the work carries your family name, you build it to last.

How It Started

It started with a seventeen-year-old, fresh off a plane from Ireland.

My dad, Paul, came to Chicago from Ireland when he was seventeen years old. He moved in with his brothers — brickmasons already working the trade — and he learned masonry the way it has always been learned: up on a wall, beside family, with someone older telling him when it wasn't good enough yet.

He worked for other people for a while. Then he went out on his own, and he started building a name across Chicagoland the only way a name in this trade ever gets built — one solid job, one happy neighbor, one referral at a time.

Here's how I know the work held up: we still get called back to those same houses. Thirty-five, forty years later, someone calls us about a chimney or a porch — and we pull up to a home my dad worked on before I was born. The brick he laid is still standing. We're just there to take care of the next thing.

There are three of us kids, and we grew up inside this business. Dad was on the job site. Mom — Karen — was in the office, every single day. My brother Owen and I got put to work early, and honestly, we wanted to be there.

Weekends meant riding along with Dad to price work, walk estimates, and check in on the crews. Then we'd get home and Mom would still be at the desk. After school. After soccer practice. Every weekend. That was just what our family did.

Now Owen and I are right next to our parents — writing estimates, scheduling, and running jobs — holding to the same standards Dad picked up at seventeen, learning from his brothers.

So when you hire Paul Lally's Masonry, you aren't hiring a contractor. You're hiring our family — and we've spent nearly four decades earning the right to put our name on your home. We fully expect to be back in thirty years to take care of whatever comes next.

A Family Name — On Every Job

When you hire us, you don't get a call center or a crew of strangers you'll never see again. You get our family — and our name is on the line for every brick we lay. If something isn't right, we make it right. That's not a policy. It's how we were raised.

Built to Survive Chicago

We've repaired, rebuilt, and restored masonry through more than 35 Chicagoland winters. We know exactly how freeze, thaw, and water pull brick apart — and how to put it back together so it stays put. Matched mortar, proper prep, no shortcuts.

We Treat Your Home Like Our Own

Your property gets the same care we'd give ours — clean worksites, straight answers, and honest recommendations. We'll tell you what actually needs doing and what doesn't. No scare tactics, no upselling, no mess left behind.

Honest Work, Honest Word

Free on-site estimates — written, clear, and pressure-free. Insured for residential and commercial work alike. You'll always know who you're dealing with, because you'll always deal with us directly.

The Mason Other Masons Call

When another contractor gets a masonry job wrong, we're the ones who get called to fix it. Homeowners come to us to undo failed tuckpointing, cracked rebuilds, and mismatched brick — and other masons quietly hand us the work they can't do right. We're proud of that reputation, and we earned it one repair at a time.

Our reputation was built by hand, one wall at a time. We're not about to risk it on yours.
